Mobile phones for pregnant women

China Telecom has designed a mobile phone named Hao Yun Tong for pregnant women and will soon be available in the Beijing market.

It is believed that the pregnant women are sensitive to electromagnetic radiation and the radiation can affect the fetus. This mobile phone has the function of letting mothers-to-be know the fetus'heart rate as well as monitor radiation. It can monitor the fetal heart rate all day and alert women if the rate is faster, and make them aware of some symptoms like pregnancy hypertension, malposition, and even if the umbilical cord is wrapped around the fetus'neck.

Another finer function of Hao Yun Tong is the SOS setup by which pregnant women can directly dial emergency telephone numbers in case there is an emergency.
