The FT-7 is a dual-seat trainer variation of the F-7 fighter, made by the Guizhou Aerospace Group of China since 1981. In Jul 1985, the FT-7 prototype based on F-7ii made its first flight.

歼教-7，是我国在歼-7基础上发展的双座教练机，由贵州航空工业集团负责研制。81年起贵州航空集团以歼-7II战斗机为原型开始研制工作，85年7月首飞，87年定型。装备部队后用于作为歼-7、歼-8战斗机飞行员的飞行训练。由于文革影响，歼-7系列改进型号的工作严重滞后，因此歼教-7出现的时候，歼-7早期型号已经在缺乏相应的训练手段的情况下服役了很长时间。

歼教-7采用小展弦比大后掠角的三角形机翼，机头进气的大细长比机身，全动的后掠水平尾翼和后退式襟翼。机翼前缘后掠角 57°，相对厚度翼根4.2%，翼尖5.0%，翼型为ЦАГИ-C9C双凸型超音速对称翼型。
